Throttle Housing. NSR250, HRC, Assy
This throttle is a reproduction of a factory HRC one used on the factory NSR250s in the 1990s and similar. For one of our projects, a customer kindly sent us the scan of the HRC part and from that we were able to reproduce this almost impossible to find part. The actual housing is CNC machined in 6061 T6 aluminium. The machining marks are then removed by bead blasting and then the part sprayed black to faithfully reproduce the look of the original factory cast one. The actual throttle is 3D printed in tough Nylon. The throttle uses an M6 type cable adjuster screw to secure to the cable and 1/4 turn of the throttle gives approximately 63mm of ‘pull’ on the throttle cable. Please see the attached picture.
Note, this is not plug and play for any motorcycle that is available from Honda or even HRC for that matter. It was designed for unobtainable factory NSR250 motorcycles and the like and will NOT fit your MC21, MC28 etc. However, it is an interesting and useful product for anyone wanting a special looking throttle and willing to adapt it to their project. We wanted this for our NX5 factory racer project which is still in development and we plan to hook it up to Keihin SPJ carburetors. If anyone else wants to do a similar project then hopefully, this will useful to them.
